For the past couple of months I have made the switch from eating meat everyday to only eating it once in awhile. I would say my diet is now about 95% vegetarian. This was a big change for me. I grew up eating meat everyday. Pot roast, beef stew, and leftover turkey were among my favorite meals. However, I knew it was time for a change. After watching some documentaries on where and how the animals are being treated and the reasons why our body may not be made for eating them, I decided to take the plunge and cut back extremely on my meat eating.
If I do eat meat it is usually when we go out to eat. The vegetarian options around here are slim unless all you want to eat is a salad or side items. Those are the times I give in and eat a little meat.
My main reason for this new lifestyle is to be healthier. I have been replacing some of my bad snacks with the healthier versions. I am also limiting my dairy intake because I feel it does not agree with me anymore. I have to say it has been easier than I thought it would be. I grew up
eating vegetables everyday also, so I already have a fondness for them.
What have you recently made the switch to?
