Here, Home, Hope is a book narrated by the main character Kelly Mills Johnson. An almost 40 year old stay at home mom who has reached a turning point in her life. She has come to the realization that her teenage sons no longer need her the way they used to so she sets out to make changes in her life for the better.
I have to say that I don't really relate with this character. Besides the fact that she is middle age, she has everything she could want and yet is depressed. She has money that she can spend getting her hair done and shopping for expensive clothes at boutiques. She has a wonderful husband that will do anything for her. Her life is perfect.
One of the things I found annoying about this book is the way she brings up the past about every person she comes in contact with, little details that have no need in the story. I also found it annoying with the amount of brand name products mentioned in this book. As a reader I don't need to know the brand of product being used by a fictional character.
Overall this is a good book if you want inspiration to do something with your life. It is a quick and easy read. I personally just find it annoying and I am used to reading from more seasoned writers.
