Eating healthy with Hass Avocados

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hass Avocado Board featuring Hass Avocados for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

This year I plan to eat even more healthier than I do now. I still love my junk food, cakes, and cookies but they are filled with saturated fats which are really bad for you.

There are healthy fats we should all be eating and they are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. One food that has these healthy fats is Hass Avocados. Eating just one fifth of an avocado will cost you only 50 calories and give you nearly 20 vitamins and minerals.

Now, if you are like me you think avocado equals guacamole but there are many other uses for avocado. You can use avocado to replace your mayo in your sandwich or burger. You can use it in wraps and soups or even milkshakes.

One recipe I might try is the Meal in a Hass Avocado Half Recipe. It has black beans, corn, shredded carrots, cilantro, and fresh Hass Avocados. You can find this recipe and many more avocado recipes.

Checkout the Kick Off with Hass Avocados Recipe Contest! where you could win for 4 people a round trip airfare, hotel accommodations, participation in a Rose Bowl Game® Welcome Reception, admission to the “behind-the-scene” Rose Bowl Parade® decorating site, sightseeing tour of Pasadena, admission to the Rose Bowl Game® on January 2. 2012 + more!

There are 2 ways to participate: a weekly sweepstakes where they will give away a box of avocados for 14 consecutive weeks or a recipe contest where the winner will win a trip to the Rose Bowl Game®!

For more information on how the winner is chosen be sure to check out the official rules on their Facebook Page.
