Sweet Pastries with Debbie’s Rugelach

Are you looking for great gift ideas for the holidays? Debbie’s Rugelach would make the perfect gift for anyone that loves sweets. Rugelach is an Eastern European pastry whose name comes from the Yiddish word “rugel”, meaning “royal”. Debbie’s Rugelach is a homemade treat that combines fresh cream cheese and unsalted butter to make the flakiest pastry. The rugelach is all natural, No preservatives, and Kosher certified.

When you warm them up in the microwave for 30 seconds they taste just like they were freshly baked. Your first bite into the rugelah, you are hit with a layer of jelly like filling surrounded by cinnamon and sugar. The pastry flakes in your mouth.

There are three flavors: Traditional Currant Walnut, Decadent Chocolate Chip, and Very Apricot. Each of these flavors taste great and the cinnamon is strong but not overpowering. The filling is made of chunks and not liquified jelly. I personally liked the Decadent Chocolate the most but was equally satisfied in the quality of these pastries. My husbands thoughts were mmmmm. His mouth was full of course because he thinks these are one bite pastries and not two bite.

These also make a great gift because of their shelf life. They will taste great stored at room temperature or in the fridge for a couple of weeks. You can also freeze them for several months.  In my house I would have to hide them in the back of the freezer so my husband can't find them.
